Who writes and checks this guidance

A small immigration practice that does one thing: indefinite leave to remain. Every page here is written by a solicitor, dated, and reviewed on a fixed cycle.

  • Page updated 22 October 2026

The firm

Wanderson & Barrera was set up in 2016 by Rebecca Thorne after eight years in larger immigration teams. The practice handles settlement only: long residence, partner and family route applications, and the refusal work that follows when an application goes wrong.

That focus is deliberate. Settlement cases turn on evidence and dates rather than on advocacy, and the difference between a good file and a weak one is usually a document nobody asked for. Doing the same type of application every week makes that difference obvious.

We do not take asylum, sponsorship or visitor visa work, and we do not operate a call centre. If your question is outside settlement, we will say so and point you to someone who handles it.

A note on photographs

We do not publish stock photographs of people who do not work here. Team profiles use monograms until a genuine photograph is supplied by each solicitor, which is the honest version of an author box.

How this site is written and reviewed

  • Authorship: each guide names the solicitor who wrote and reviewed it, with an SRA number you can check on the public register.
  • Sources: every legal statement links to the GOV.UK page or the Immigration Rules appendix it comes from. Where a figure comes from a fee table, the effective date is shown.
  • Review cycle: changing pages, such as the spouse rules tracker, are checked monthly. Stable pages are checked quarterly and after any statement of changes.
  • Dating: the review date appears in the page header and in the structured data. A page is not republished with a new date unless the content was actually checked.
  • Corrections: if you spot an error, email contact@ilrsolicitors.com with the page address. Corrections are made and the page date updated.
  • Limits: the guidance is general. It cannot account for your immigration history, and it is not a substitute for advice on your case.
